Sara Battista, LCPC, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Maryland and DC. I help clients explore the complex feelings that accompany life changes, and navigate the stressors of day-to-day life. I work with adolescent and adult clients of all genders. I empower clients to make choices consistent with a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
My counseling style is flexible, allowing me to tailor my interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual client. My integrative approach includes elements of evidence-based practices, such as Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), combined with positive psychology and alternative interventions (primarily mindfulness and meditation). I celebrate body diversity and am a Health at Every Size® informed clinician.
Most importantly, I help clients embrace their authentic selves (unapologetically).
My Background
I received my BA in Psychology from Elon University and earned my Master's in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to starting my own private practice, I worked at two eating disorder treatment facilities where I received extensive training. In addition to my work with the ED population, I also see clients experiencing anxiety, adjustment issues, ADHD, bipolar disorder and more.
